Chapter Twenty-five:

(Out of Chris' POV)
-A day in the life of Sid Amherst-

Sid woke up and stared at the wall, he laid there for awhile contemplating on whether it would be a good idea to get up or go back to sleep. Knowing that his parents would freak if he wasn't there for breakfast he decided to get up. Sid slipped on his house slippers and walked to the bedroom door, he yawned and walked out down the hall and into the living room. "Morning, squirt." His dad Yu said.
"M-m-morning, D-dad." Sid stammered. All his life Sid could never really talk without stammering, on rare occassions he could, but obviously it wasn't a rare occasion.
"Sleep well?" Yu asked.
"I-I g-guess." Sid replied sitting down. "Wh-what's f-for b-b-breakfast?"
Yu turned the page of his manga and shrugged "Kiro never let's me in the kitchen before 1pm." Yu said.
"O-oh." Sid said quietly. He pulled his knees up to his chest and wrapped his arms around his legs and rested his head on his knees, he began thinking about anything that ran through his head, which usually was a lot of things that made no sense to Sid at all. One minute he could be thinking about music and the next he could be thinking about rainbows and unicorns, Sid never knew why that happened exactly, he just figured he couldn't keep a train of thought.
"Breakfast." Kiro said happily walking into the room with two plates. He handed one too Sid and the other to Yu "Eat up, kiddo." He smiled at Sid.
Sid looked at his breakfast, like usual everything was cut into tiny bits so Sid wouldn't have to cut them, sometimes his arms would start shaking for no given reason and he would get cut by a knife if he was holding one. "Thanks." Sid said quietly.
Kiro looked at his son and kissed the top of his head "Don't forget kiddo, you're going to see Dr. Takemura today." Kiro told him.
The only thing Sid did was nod, he didn't like talking about therapy nor did he like going to therapy, it made him feel pathetic that he couldn't hanlde his own problems and it made him feel different from all his classmates. But Sid was a good kid, he never argued against it, he knew it would hurt his parents if he didn't go to therapy.

Half past noon Sid walked into his therapist's office and took his seat on the couch, he clutched his pink and blue teddy bear to his chest and looked at his feet. Barely a few minutes later his therapist walked in, he was a tall Japanese man in his early fourties, he had graying black hair and dark brown eyes, dark they may be but kind they were, like usual he wore a blue and gray pinstriped suit because he knew Sid liked the colors blue and gray.
Dr. Takemura took his seat in the chair next to the couch where Sid was sitting, he picked up his notepad and looked at Sid with a bright smile "How're you doing today, Sid?" He asked.
"I-I'm o-okay." Sid replied not looking at Dr. Takemura.
"Did you take your medication?" Dr. Takemura asked chipperly.
Sid sighed and nodded, he hated taking his medication because they made him feel like a zombie and when he was in that zombie like state he couldn't do anything but sit or shuffle around, he couldn't talk nor could he really feel any emotions, Sid hated it.
"So tell me what's up at home? You doing alright?" Dr. Takemura asked.
"I-it's f-fine." Sid replied. "M-m-mum m-made w-waffles this m-morning."
"Waffles are good. I used to have em every Saturday morning when I was your age." Dr. Takemura told Sid. "How's your brother Myv?"
"I-I'm n-not s-sure." Sid replied looking down sadly. "H-he h-hasn't c-c-called l-lately…"
"Aw, well that's too bad. He really should call you more often, huh?" Dr. Takemura said. Sid nodded. "Maybe you should call him and tell him that it upsets you that he doesn't call."
"Th-that m-might w-work." Sid replied nodding.
The rest of the sesson was spent talking about Sid's nightmares and obsessive mumbling disorder, it usually took awhile for Sid to start talking about his feelings but Dr. Takemura was patient and never pried too much, he had been Sid's therapist since Sid was a small child and as the time rolled by he started caring for Sid like he would one of his children.

Kiro stood up as Sid walked out of the office still holding onto his teddy bear for dear life, Kiro smiled softly, and looked over at Dr. Takemura "Do you have a minute?" Dr. Takemura asked.
"Sure." Kiro said. He looked at Sid "Have a seat, kiddo, I'll be right back."
Sid sat down in the seat Kiro had been sitting in and brought his knees to his chest, he rested his chin on top of his teddy bear's head, he glanced over at Kiro and watched him walk into the office. A sigh escaped Sid's throat and a few tears brimmed his pearly eyes.
A boy a little older than Sid walked in and sat next to him, Sid looked at the boy, he had messy black hair to his shoulder, crystal clear blue eyes surrrounded by thick black and red makeup, he had a single lip ring on the right side, he wore a black jacket with chains hanging off the sleeves, and black jeans with chains hanging from the thighs, and black combat boots with chains on the side.
The boy looked at Sid and smiled weakly, Sid noticed he was clutching a bat Skelanimal "H-hi." Sid said quietly.
"Hey…" The boy replied just as quietly. "I'm Teddy."
"S-sid." Sid said.
"Um… you here for therapy?" Teddy asked. Sid nodded. "Yeah me too… I talk to myself too much and have nightmares."
"M-me t-too." Sid replied, suddenly feeling like he wasn't alone.
"Oh cool, I'm not alone then." Teddy smiled, revealing black and red braces.
A tall woman with long black hair walked in, she wore a purple and pink striped sweater and black jeans with pink and blue converses, her eyes were just like Teddy's only happier "Hi, squirt." She said ruffling Teddy's hair. "Still waiting?"
Teddy nodded "Mum, this is Sid." Teddy said. "Sid, this is my mum."
"Hello, sweetie." Teddy's mum smiled.
"H-hi, m-ma'am." Sid stammered.
She smiled brightly "Call me, Lily, kay?" She said sweetly. Sid nodded "So you're Teddy's friend?"
"I-I g-guess." Sid replied. Teddy smiled happily, and hugged his Skelanimal closer just as Sid hugged his teddy bear. They looked at each other and laughed a little.
A few minutes later the boys were immersed in a discussion about cooking, the two had more in common they had thought. The door opened and Kiro walked out, "Hello." Kiro said to Teddy and Lily.
"Hi." Teddy replied quietly.
"Hello, I'm Lily." Lily said standing up to shake Kiro's hand. "You must be Sid's father."
"Father, mother, whatever he prefers to call me." Kiro smiled. "It's Kiro by the way."
"Do you have two dads?" Teddy asked Sid. Sid nodded. "Cool, I have two mums."
Dr. Takemura walked over to Teddy "You're turn, squirt." He said.
Teddy smiled and stood up, he waved to Sid and walked off still clinging to his Skelanimal, Kiro looked at Lily and smiled "We best be heading home." He said. Kiro pulled out a piece of paper and jotted something down "This way the boys can call each other."
"I'm sure Teddy would love that." Lily smiled. "Sid would be his first friend."
"Really? The same goes for Sid." Kiro replied. He looked at Sid, who appeared to be slowly drifting off to sleep "I guess we better go, c'mon, Sid."
Sid stood up and waved goodbye to Lily and followed Kiro out of the building and back to the car.

Sid walked in his bedroom and tugged off his clothes, he picked up his pajamas off the dresser and pulled them on, he turned off the light and turend on his pink lava lamp and laid down on his bed, he pulled the blankets over his head and hugged his teddy bear tightly and for once fell asleep with a smile on his face.
